The correct Maxcon tent peg setup is based on the design of the peg. It ensures Maxcon pegs effectively do what it is designed to do, namely to anchor and stabilize the tent in severe winds.
When the Maxcons peg is in the ground at 45°, the guy rope and spring pull at a 90° angle. The peg can become loose in the ground or grass, but it cannot pull out. This happens because the spring keeps the guy rope taught. If the guy rope cannot become slack, the rope and spring cannot dislodge from the peg. At the same time, the peg cannot dislodge from the ground.
To ensure proper performance by the Max-Peg, it must be used as prescribed. If it is used incorrectly, the guy rope and spring may come loose from the peg which will render the peg ineffective.
